Permanent lighting installation for the main conference room.
Made of ordinary and inexpensive woven coated nylon mesh, it was designed using a physics + parametric design modeler so that the flexible fabric is pulled taut equally in all directions, creating a geometrically precise but diffuse light effect in the room. The installation attempts to defy the predictable qualities of the ordinary materials of which they are made while the sectional form and behavior of the material - in tension - mimics a catenary curve.
Modules sewn together and fastened with grommets to a steel structure.
Welded cold rolled tube steel, finished, waxed and installed onsite
